From summer 1941 onwards, Romania pursued the mass killing of Jews in the territories it controlled. Overall Romanian armed forces and local people murdered more than 300,000 Jews in the Romanian territories during the Second World War.
In „Romania and the Holocaust“, edited by Simon Geissbühler, a number of renowned experts shed light on these events, their contexts, and their aftermath. Thereby this volume gives a much needed impetus to research on the Holocaust in Romania.
